Dear {Mr. Dormandy,

I have glanced through the book which you kindly left with me – GENERAL VIASOV – but I think it is rather superficial and not particularly interesting so that I do not feel we could undertake to publish it.

I am sorry that your visit occurred during the Xmas holidays so that I could not spend as much time with you as I should have liked.

Is it too much to ask you a favour? We are planning to publish for the High Schools a bi-lingual Anthology of modern Franch literature, and we have been bombarding the Publisher {GALLIMARD|1466} for a permit but we cannot get any satisfaction. I wonder whether you would be good enough to give them a ring to find out what is holding up their answer.

With many thanks and all gook wishes.

Yours sincerely,

Kalman Lantos

P.S. Would you let me know what I should do with the book GENERAL VIASOV. Should I keep it or hand it over to some other publisher and, is so, to whom?
